Mission Statement

• Rowan University will become a new model for higher education by being inclusive, agile, and responsive, offering diverse scholarly and creative educational experiences, pathways, environments, and services to meet the needs of all students; maintaining agility by strategically delivering organizational capacity across the institution; and responding to emerging demands and opportunities regionally and nationally.

Life at Rowan

• The Rowan community is a vibrant one, with students pursuing fulfillment through participation in wide-ranging opportunities. We encourage healthy life choices, multicultural competency, personal and professional growth, campus and community involvement, civic responsibility and leadership development. Our student-centered approach promotes the education of the whole person within a global society, helping students prepare for life after Rowan.

• Rowan Rec Center

The Rowan Rec Center is open seven days a week. The 92,000 square foot facility features a three-court gymnasium, indoor track, 25-yard pool, four racquetball courts, a cycling room, a group exercise studio, fitness and free weight room areas, full locker/shower facilities, and a juice/smoothie bar. The Rec is one of the finest centers in the state for recreational activities, fitness programs, intramural sports and instructional classes.

• Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM

WGLS-FM is a regional radio service with a potential audience of almost 1.3 million people. The broadcast signal covers South Jersey, parts of Philadelphia and Delaware. The studios are located in the College of Communication & Creative Arts on the campus of Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

WGLS-FM is licensed to the Rowan University Board of Trustees and is a non-profit organization. Twenty-four hours a day a staff of independent volunteers broadcast a variety of musical, cultural, educational, entertaining and informative programs of interest to the Rowan University and South Jersey communities. Rowan University Art Gallery serves as a premier cultural destination for South Jersey, the Rowan community, and surrounding region. Our mission is to provide a platform for discourse on best practices in contemporary art by professional artists, curators, and scholars through the presentation of interdisciplinary art exhibitions, panel discussions, guest curatorial projects, and other public programming. It is open Monday - Wednesday from 10:00am - 5:00pm and Thursday - Saturday, 10:00am - 7:00pm.

• Jean and Ric Edelman Planetarium [[1]]

Look to the skies with Edelman Planetarium! We offer live stargazing and immersive 360-degree video on our digital sky. Private shows can be scheduled for school, church and scout groups. The public is welcome to attend our current shows.
